Weddings: Naomi and David

It started as an innocent work romance.  Naomi was told by a fellow work colleague that she would never get a smile out of David....so, of course, she took that as a challenge.  They initially went out as friends but soon started dating.  Their relationship survived a long distance stint and ever since they have been inseparable.  So, Naomi did manage to get that smile and these two were super excited about their wedding day and the reality that they would be spending the rest of their lives together.
Naomi and David, you guys were my last wedding for the season and I truly felt blessed that you guys picked little old me as your photographer.  I really enjoyed working with you both and David you were definitely dishing out the smiles on the day!  It was also great to have my good friend and fellow photographer Lisa Reid helping me out.
Here’s wishing you both all the happiness as you now begin the next chapter in your lives together.  May the laughter never die! x

Babies: Golden Slumber

Golden slumber kiss your eyes,
Smiles await you when you rise.
Sleep,
pretty baby,
Do not cry,
And I'll sing you a lullaby.

Care you know not,
Therefore sleep,
While I o'er you watch do keep.
Sleep,
pretty darling,
Do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

- based on a poem by Thomas Dekker

Congratulations Mel and Neil you have a gorgeous baby boy and I felt very lucky getting to have a few cuddles with him during his session.
Welcome to world baby Connor, you are a pure delight!

Personal: 7 and growing up fast!

Bella, last week you turned 7 and I as I processed this picture I wondered where that time has gone?  You are smart, funny, a bit kooky, strong willed and at times you frustrate me terribly.....but there is no denying you are a truly beautiful spirit and you make my heart burst with love.

Love you always and forever x

Weddings: Laura and Will

I can still remember my initial meeting with Laura and Will, after we got all the introductions out of the way we started to talk about their wedding and what the day was going to in tale.  Their wedding was going to take place in Port Chalmers at the beautiful Iona Church followed by their reception at the Port Chalmers Town Hall.  I then learnt that they meet at high school, Laura is a lawyer and Will works on the family farm and they had recently had an overseas trip where Will proposed to Laura.....romantic!

I was thinking wow this will be a fabulous wedding and a gorgeous couple to photograph!  Then Laura informed me that Will wasn't really into getting his photo taken and would I give them guidance on the day as she was really hoping to get that natural looking, un staged romantic shot!  Hmmm........I was now thinking this could be a slightly challenging groom!

Well my fears totally unjust!  It was totally obvious that Will is so in love with Laura and I had no problems capturing those natural looking, un staged romantic shots!  Laura and Will I loved working with you guys.  It was such a fun day and Will you sure could work it for the camera.  Thank you for letting me be there to capture those moments that will last you a lifetime.

Enjoy x
